what to bring

your driver's licence. that is it. we photocopy it and you take it with you.

if you have a trade and want a number on it while you are here, bring the ownership and keep in mind that we will want to look at it properly.

budget forty-five minutes. fifteen for the drive itself, the rest for looking at the car properly and asking questions.

do not let anybody rush you, here or anywhere else. a car is a large purchase and fifteen minutes is not long to decide.

most test drives are too short and too gentle to tell you anything.

get it up to highway speed. wind noise, vibration and how it tracks are invisible at 50 km/h. Talbot Line is right there.
brake harder than politely. once, somewhere safe. you are feeling for pulling, shuddering or a soft pedal.
turn the wheel to full lock, both ways, moving slowly. clicks and knocks show up there.
try every button. windows, mirrors, heated seats, air conditioning, the rear defroster, the radio, every USB port.
turn the radio off and listen to the car for a minute.
reverse into a space, so you find out about the camera and the mirrors before you own it.
sit in the back, if anybody ever will.
