privacy policy

most of this site can be read without giving us anything. we collect personal information only when you choose to send it:

• when you ask about a vehicle (reserve, book a test drive, or ask a question on a vehicle page): your name and mobile number, an email address if you give one, which vehicle, and which of the three you chose. we use it to reply about that vehicle.
• when you ask to be told if a price drops: your email address and which vehicle. we send one email if that vehicle’s advertised price goes down, and nothing else. every such email carries an unsubscribe link, and we keep the time you asked as the record of your consent.
• when you send a general message on the contact page, or ask about financing on the get-approved page: your name, a phone number or an email address, and whatever you write. we use it to reply. the financing form is not a credit application and does not start a credit check.
• when you ask to see the reconditioning work on a vehicle: your name and either a phone number or an email address, and which vehicle. we use it to show you the work and to follow up about that vehicle.
• when you use the chat (Shannon): the messages you type, and which pages you visited on this site. Shannon is Arrow’s own service, run by Arrow, and no outside company receives that data. we use it to answer you and to understand how the site is used.
• when you tap a phone number on this site: we record that a call was started, which page and which vehicle it was started from, and the time. we do not and cannot see your phone number, whether the call connected, or anything said on it; that is between your phone and ours. it tells the salesperson answering which vehicle you are ringing about.
• when you phone or visit: whatever you tell us, handled the way a dealership always has, under the same rules.

we use Google Analytics to understand how this site is used: which pages and vehicles people look at, which questions they open, and which buttons they press. we never send Google your name, your email address, your phone number, or anything you type into a form. those stay with us. the cookies it sets are listed in the cookie policy, which also says how to turn them off.

we do not run advertising trackers on this site, and we do not collect payment card details online.

like every website, ours is served by hosting infrastructure that records the address your device connects from, the page requested, the time, and the browser type. these logs exist to keep the site running and secure. they are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period and are not used to identify visitors.

the cookies this site sets, and what each one does, are listed in the cookie policy.

one of those cookies counts your visits and remembers which vehicles you have opened. it stays on your own device. if you send us an enquiry, that count and that list are attached to your enquiry so the salesperson answering can see what you were looking at, which saves you repeating it. if you never send one, none of it is recorded anywhere but your own browser, and it expires on its own. it is ours alone: it is not shared with advertisers, ad networks or analytics companies.

using this site is your agreement to what this policy describes: the cookies listed in the cookie policy, the record of your visit described above, and the measurement tools named there. none of it is needed to read the site, every page works with cookies blocked, and the cookie policy says how to block them. you can also tell us to stop at any time, with the address on the contact page, and you do not have to give a reason.

when you send a form on this site, the purpose is stated beside it and sending it is your consent to that purpose. we contact you only about the enquiry you made. the one email we send on our own is the price-drop alert you asked for, which you can stop with the link in it. we do not send marketing emails or text messages unless you have separately and clearly agreed to receive them, and you can withdraw that at any time by telling us.

• Arrow staff who answer enquiries.
• our own lead routing, which alerts the salesperson who will answer you, and the customer records system we use to keep track of that conversation.
• service providers who host the website and its database on our behalf, and who act only on our instructions. some of these providers may store data outside Canada, where it is subject to the laws of that country.
• nobody else, unless the law requires it.

we do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

• video. vehicle walk-around videos are embedded from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookie until you press play. once you play a video, Google’s own privacy policy applies to that player.
• map. the contact page embeds a Google map of the dealership. Google’s own privacy policy applies inside that map.
• CARFAX. vehicle history reports open on CARFAX’s own website, under its own terms.

enquiries are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back. if you would like an enquiry deleted, ask and we will delete it unless we are required to keep a record.

you can ask us:

• what personal information we hold about you, and to see it,
• to correct it if it is wrong,
• to delete it, subject to any legal requirement to keep it,
• to stop contacting you.
